I’ve never been before although I’ve wanted to. It’s mostly due to a lack of time, which is why it was lovely to have the excuse to go with the voucher from Be Our Guest. It meant I could switch my phone off and really have time to relax and enjoy the production.
I went with my sister to see Nigel Slater’s Toast. I knew about Nigel Slater and my sister’s got some of his cookery books but I didn’t know anything about his memoir or what the play would be about. We had tickets for Monday 15th September.
What was your first impression inside and outside?
It’s a really beautiful venue. Very friendly and quite intimate. We had some drinks before the show which we were allowed to take into the theatre which was nice. There were some seats still available – it was a good atmosphere.
How was the play?
We really enjoyed it. The actors were great. It was a small cast and they did so well playing all the different roles. It was quite a moving story, with some funny bits as well, and it was performed so well.
Would you go back?
Absolutely! It was a lovely evening and nice to have been given the opportunity to enjoy it.
