Ilkley has proudly held Fairtrade Town status since 2006. Join us as we celebrate two decades of supporting fairer trade for farmers and workers around the world.
Making fairness the norm
Ilkley became an official Fairtrade Town in 2006 following the work of a small but determined group of local volunteers who set out to raise awareness of Fairtrade across the town.
Fairtrade is a different way of trading and shopping. It helps farmers and workers receive fairer prices, work in better conditions and earn an additional Fairtrade Premium to invest in their communities.
When shopping, eating or drinking in Ilkley, look out for the familiar blue and green FAIRTRADE Mark.

Fairtrade events in Ilkley
Take part in the town-centre trail during Fairtrade Fortnight, then join Ilkley Fairtrade Group for a special anniversary coffee morning.

20th Anniversary Coffee Morning
Christchurch, The Grove, Ilkley
Ilkley’s 20th anniversary celebrations will culminate in a special coffee morning at Christchurch.
The event will include refreshments, a Fairtrade stall, information about the campaign and the cutting of a birthday cake.
The winner of the Fairtrade Trail Quiz will also be announced, with a prize of Fairtrade products donated by the Co-op.
